Carrying Hope x Jewish Teen Service Corp Event

On Saturday, May 2, Carrying hope partnered with the JUF Jewish Teen Service Corp to donate 55 bags towards 4 various synagogues: Temple Shalom, Anshe Emmet, Temple Sinai, and Mishkan. 30 eager volunteers came to Naomi’s house for an afternoon packed with filling bags, bedazzling accessories, making bracelets, and writing cards to each patient receiving a bag. The various contents at synagogues within the city were very appreciative for our work and dedication.

Aside from impacting individual members of the community, this event expanded Carrying Hopes outreach to new members, hoping to get more involved.

Junior at the Latin School of Chicago, Bea Bloomer said “coming to this event showed me a new organization that I can work with in the future. It was nice to be able to know the type of people we were able to impact within this work.”

Helping these people within the Jewish community was especially meaningful to the JUF Jewish Teen Service Corp Co-Head, Bess Auerbach.

“Not only was planning this event helpful for the Jewish community, but the hard work of everyone involved inspired me to continue my work with both organizations,” she said.

As we distribute these bags towards each synagogue, we hope to maintain a relationship with them and continue donating more bags in the future.
